Equity Research Analyst
Location: New York, NY

A leading provider of benchmark indices and risk management analytics products and services to both international and domestic investors seeks a Equity Research Analyst. The Equity and Multi Asset Class Research (Core Products) team is responsible for the management, practical applications and enhancements of both Index and Risk content products, including all Equity Index Series and Equity Risk tools.

The Equity Research team is responsible for:

·         Managing equity indices for the Americas region

·         Monitoring and analyzing of all corporate events related to the equity  indices for Americas region

·         Analyze and promote the practical applications and use in the clients’ investment processes for our index and risk tools

·         Providing customized analytical inputs to product management and sales

 

Responsibilities for Equity Research Analyst

·         Responsible for index construction and maintenance for countries or indices in the Americas region, including the review of the structure of equity markets, the analysis and recommendation of securities for index additions and/or deletions

·         Conduct analytical research on corporate events such as mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, tender offers, stock splits and capital repayments

·         Spearhead projects on equity index and risk product integration initiatives, working closely with the equity research Executive Director.

·         Conduct analytical research on other index related topics such as investability of equity markets, industry classification, and regulatory structure of the country/market/sector under coverage

·         Prepare and present various index methodological reports to the equity decision committees, participate in product enhancement and product development efforts

·         Work closely with Equity Index Research Analysts in other Research locations (Hong Kong, Geneva and Mumbai), ensuring seamless execution of index maintenance processes within overall Equity Index Research processes

·         Assist with the hiring, training and management of new hires

Required Qualifications:

·         Master’s degree, with an emphasis in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field

·         Good understanding of equity investment processes and capital markets

·         Experience in roles requiring strong analytical and strong quantitative skills

·         Advance Microsoft Excel knowledge (ability to handle/manage large quantity of data).  Familiar with investment research processes, Bloomberg, Factset, Barra Suite of risk management products

IT Hardware Financial Research Analyst
Location: New York, NY

Financial firm seeks an IT Hardware Financial Research Analyst to work on the computer hardware team. The position would primarily involve direct support coverage responsibilities in systems, storage, and PC hardware (AAPL, DELL, GTW, HPQ, IBM, LXK, SUNW, BRCD, EMC, ELX, MCDTA, NTAP, QLGC, STX, WDC, KOMG, IVAC, IM, and TECD), with some interaction with the Tech Strategy team.

The ideal candidate for the role would have at least two years of experience post undergraduate school, in either technology finance (preferably sell-side, investment banking, private wealth management, buy-side, or private equity) or in the technology industry itself, a strong interest in the markets, and solid writing skills. There will be some travel required (probably less than 10% of the time however), and duties will include financial modeling and analysis, report/note writing, daily interaction with sales and trading and other hardware team members, client interaction, generating primary research, attending company meetings, as well as having a broad reach into the venture capital and private company worlds. For someone looking to work longer-term in either buy-side, sell-side, venture capital or even in an operational or strategic role at a technology company, this is a great background to have.

Hours typically range from 60-70 per week, and the work-day begins at 7:00 am.

Job Description

The research associate will work directly with a senior analyst on many aspects of the research process including: performing financial analysis and due diligence, writing investment-driven research reports, developing and fielding industry surveys and undertaking a wide array of industry analyses and competitive assessments. The associate will interact regularly with company executives and institutional investors.

Job Requirements
